Last Christmas was truly unforgettable for our family. It marked the first time we celebrated this meaningful day at Naa Buat, and the experience was nothing short of magical. Away from the usual hustle and bustle, we decided to keep it simple yet memorable by celebrating in the heart of nature, surrounded by the serene beauty of our beloved Naa Buat.
To start, we decorated a tree to serve as our Christmas tree. It wasn’t a store-bought but a tree that my sister planted few years ago and adorned with colourful lights and decorations. The simplicity of it made it even more special—it felt authentic and deeply connected to the spirit of Naa Buat.
For our Christmas meal, we decided to make it unique by hosting a BBQ by the river. The view was spectacular, with the gentle flow of the water and the lush greenery surrounding us. We built a wooden table near the riverbank, setting it up as a communal dining area where anyone passing by could stop and join us for a meal. It was our way of sharing the joy of the season with others, even if it was just for a moment.
We didn’t stop there. To add to the festive vibe, we set up a tent near the riverbank, turning the area into a cozy retreat. The children had a wonderful time swimming in the river, their laughter echoing through the valley. We also brought along games like darts and badminton, keeping everyone entertained throughout the day.
As the sun set and the evening rolled in, the atmosphere became even more enchanting. The glow of the fire from the BBQ pit and the sound of the river created a sense of peace and togetherness that can’t be replicated. The day wasn’t just about the food or the activities—it was about being present, cherishing each other, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
"Celebrating Christmas at Naa Buat reminded us of the beauty of simplicity and the importance of family. It wasn’t about grandeur—it was about love, laughter, and the connections we hold dear."
This first Christmas celebration at Naa Buat will forever be etched in our hearts. It was a day that reminded us of the true essence of the holiday season: gratitude, togetherness, and the joy of giving—not just gifts but time, love, and experiences.
